Designing service spaces begins with a simple intention: to put people at ease before a word is spoken. A space can quicken the pulse or calm it.

Spaces made for care

Clinics, pharmacies, spas, salons: people often arrive tired, sometimes anxious. The composition answers that state. Circulation moves without haste, thresholds soften, and the material does the rest — stone and wood ground the room, warm light holds it, sound settles. A room that hushes footsteps is a room that reassures.

Gallantier, a private barbershop on Mont-Royal, was composed in this spirit: built slowly, around the quiet ceremony of being well kept.

Welcome, waiting and community, public and intimate circulation, privacy, interventions.

I guide you through the thinking behind your service and care spaces, in step with your clientele. We produce the technical documentation needed to build the spaces or objects. We follow the site through with the contractors and subcontractors. We coordinate with the engineers, architects and professionals on the project.
